Green Tea?

I've heard about a lot of benefits, like the speeding up of your metabolism, from drinking green tea and other types as well so I've recently started having a cup every morning but has anyone seen any changes that tea can do for your body?

Green tea is good for you but it won't do anything for weight loss. The caffeine in it can give you a bit of a boost however it's not enough to make a difference.
Drink it because you like it... don't drink it because you think it will do something for your in terms of weight loss or changes in your body.0 -
Yes please. It has less caffeine than coffee and that is great for my particular body that can't handle too much caffeine.0

I quit drinking coffee a month ago and started drinking green tea, black. No milk or sugar. I lost some weight but probably because I weight from drinking 3 or 4 double doubles a day to none.0

I have found that drinking fresh green tea does help. Besides that it is full of antioxidents. Its not worth it if you just buy a bottle of store bought. Best if it is fresh brewed hot or cold. I have found in my experience when i switched from decaf to regular it upped my energy and metabolism and i got out of a plateau. I also drink 7-8 glasses a day.0

I'm drinking some now.
2 cups a day may help keep the grim reaper away

Bump the amount you're drinking up to about 5-6 cups a day and you should notice the weight falling off easier within a couple of weeks. It balances sugar levels so you're less likely to snack, increases energy & metabolism, and boosts the immune system.
I'm quite caffeine sensitive too tho, so just be sure to get those cups in before mid afternoon.0 -
I don't find it does much for weight loss besides what upping your fluids intake in general can do for you. I tend to want something interesting tasting when I'm doing something like writing papers/ doing email/ doing my accounts, so I find a nice fruity plain tea is a way to satisfy my oral fixation without mindlessly sucking back calorie rich sweets or beverages.0

It just helps me drink more water, and curb late-night snack-attacks. Plus I think the aroma is calming.0

Oh my - if green tea made the "weight fall off" I should be the skinniest person onMFP right now......I have been drinking about 4 to 6 cups a day for a couple of years now......
OP - the only thing that helps with the fat falling off is a calorie deficit.
What green tea has going for it is that it is high in anti oxidants. I drink one that is a blend of green tea and mint, so it helps satisfy my sweet cravings . I also find it to be a mild diuretic - might just be the amount I drink ;-), but I suspect it is the caffeine in it ....definitely helps when feel I am a bit bloated......
In the end of the day it is not a "magic" weight loss serum - even though it is a healthy drink to add to your healthy lifestyle :-)0 -

I prefer Yerba Mate which has a different type of caffeine than regular teas. The taste is strange at first but you learn to love it!0
