Ladies that lift heavy...

what does your cardio look like? I'm looking to lose weight (inches preferably) and want a successful formula for that. I'm 5'6" and 162 looking to lose the baby weight. I played soccer most of my life so I'm familiar with lifting, but never did it thereafter. I've mostly just run throughout my twenties.

Hello! :) I have found that, the older I get, the more I need to incorporate weights into my workout routine. Cardio is great for burning extra fat, but muscle is what really makes the difference long term. I don't lift a lot or do reps, but I do use 5-10 lbs weights during my workout videos - as well as ankle weights and sometimes even a weighted vest. This seems to give me all over toning without bulk, though I am sure everyone is different. Good luck!

I have lost 45 lbs and put on 12 lbs of muscle in the last year. I lift heavy 3 times per week and do minimal cardio. I get in about 11 000 steps on my fitbit each day and twice a week I do HIIT for 7-10 minutes.

My cardio is HITT for no more than 15 min 2X a week...I also walk my dog for a half hour, but since he stops every 3 ft, I really don't count that as cardio, just every day stuff.
