:frown: :frown: :frown: People are getting FATTER and shorts are getting SHORTER!:frown: :frown: :frown:
WTF? The 14 year old....yes I said 14....is walking around in the shortest shorts I've ever seen. So tight that it looks like her thighs are choking. And she is not fat yet, but shes definately thick for 14.
Its not just across the street, I see it everywhere. All ages! The vision across the street just put me on edge.
Just because its in style, doesn't mean its meant for you to wear.
I think we may be the fattest country with the littelest clothes in the world. Good grief! Why bother at all with clothes if your underwear are bigger than your pants anyway?
:grumble: :grumble: :grumble: Its just not right:grumble: :grumble: :grumble:
Shouldn't you at least want shorts long enough to cover your cellulite?

I'm just sayin.....0

I know what you mean. Just because people wear it in a music video doesn't mean you should wear it to the store...0
-
I know! Right!?!?!?!
And I noticed that I typoed in the title of this. Can't fix it.0 -
I totally agree with you! It's bad enough when I see SKINNY people in those super popular cutoff denim shorts that are so short I can see the bottom of their butts, but when overweight people wear them, it's just so much worse... I mean, I'm not saying overweight people (myself included!) can't be fashionable, but maybe they should aim for flattering instead...0

I always say "just because you can button and zip them does not mean you should wear them.":happy:0

I didn' want to see my cellulite. I certainly don't want to see the neighborhood's cellulite!0

I feel the same way... but what's funny is... my honey WANTS me to wear shorter shorts, he LOVES my thick legs. I just looked at him and said, "Are you freakin' serious?" and he said, "YES!!"... he says that its not about ME and whether or not I like my legs, he says that other people DO... welllllll, it IS about me and what I feel comfortable in... and just the thought of it is EWWW lol
I only wear shorts around him... and if I wear a skirt.. it's at least to my knees, if not below. lol
Oh and another epidemic is... ppl showing off their thongs... just like the guys that wear their pants around their butts... I don't want to see it... lol
Wow, thanks.. I guess I needed to vent lol :grumble:0 -
And my fiance tells me I have an *irrational* fear of being judged harshly by others about my weight. :ohwell:0

I'm not judging the weight, I'm saying the lack of clothing and/or undersizing is inappropriate.
I don't care what anyone wears, but please cover your butt cheeks at least.0 -

hahhahaha. Finally someone has said something! Somethings are meant to be worn at home and JUST at home0

We have a problem here with girls wear shirts as dresses! I'll be out dancing and there are these girls who can barely move without exposing themselves! And apparently these 'shirts' come in all sizes.....argh0
-
Get this...you think that's bad???? It is 100% legal in my home state of Maine for women to walk down the street completely topless....have yet to see it in person, but it's been on the news lol
I'm gonna be pissed when I come across a half naked woman when I'm walking up the street with my child :grumble:0 -
"Just because they make it in your size (or whatever size you're disillusioned to thinking you wear), does NOT mean you should wear it!"
I mean, heck...they make fishnet body stockings in my size... NOBODY wants to see that!!! LOL0 -
I was raised by a mom who had a weight problem. She was so very good about teaching me to "dress for my body type". I was in 8th grade, wearing a DD bra. She taught me not to be ashamed of my boobs - but to dress appropriately so that I looked nice and could still feel comfortable. She was very clear that not every fad that came along was going to look good on me - and that it's MUCH more important to be "fashionable" than to be "in style".
We went to one of my sons games awhile ago and there was a woman who had to have been as big as I was (286 lbs). Her skin was so white that it had an almost bluish cast and she was wearing a pair of hot pink SHORT shorts (the ones that might as well be underwear) that said JUICY across the butt. She stood right in front of her and bent over... my father just about lost it! She hadn't shaved the bikini area and yes... the shorts were so short that we could tell that.
Just because they make it your size (or because you can squeeze yourself into it) doesn't mean that you should wear it.0 -
On the flip side, I'm appalled that this type of clothing appears to be ALL that is available!!! I spent a horrendous afternoon in a dress room with my tearful 14 year old, trying to find something, ANYTHING that will cover her boobs, belly and butt!! I say shame on the clothing industry for not giving our kids 'modest' and appropriate clothing to buy!0

I completely agree with you on this one! I consider myself lucky to only have a boy - because if I had a young girl, I'd have to learn to sew. I have friends with young ladies and they have such a difficult time finding clothes! Why does society not seem to understand that it's not okay for our 12-16 year olds to be walking around looking like they're in their mid 20's? My girlfriend has a 16 year old daughter... I was disgusted with what passes as a prom dress nowadays... they're cocktail dresses and club dresses... NOT prom dresses!0 -
So glad to hear that I'm not the only big girl who believes in this!
Sometimes when I see girls and women dressed in clothes that are clearly inappropriate for their size or body shape, I feel like rushing up to them and offerring to go with them the next time they go shopping!
As a younger woman, I will say that it is disappointing not to be able to find fashionable clothing that fits right a lot of the time. It was ridiculous when I was bigger but is getting easier as time goes on thank goodness. I'm big but with the distinctly sad attributes of an average bust and small booty, combined big thighs and arms A lot of the "plus size" clothing is way too big in the chest and bum areas, but "regular" clothes wont go over my thunder thighs or make my arms look like rolled hams! I have also found that just about everything over a size 16 is generally more in the styles preferred by older women, and ends up making me look older and frumpier than I am.
And fashion industry - Is it so hard to believe that a woman can look beautiful and sexy WITHOUT, sophisticated having everything on display? Shame on you for having preconceptions about what is the 'right' type of body.
I LOVE 50's and 60's fashion, and I'm considering getting a sewing machine to maybe start making my own clothes in that style. My sewing skill isn't that crash at the moment, but I'm willing to learn if it means I can for the first time in my life wear clothes that will look and fit right on me It's actually a really exciting idea!0 -
I agree, when my daughter gets older she will NOT be allow to dress like a little prost-i-tot (or Kinder-*kitten* which ever works for ya). I have never understood why people want to wear clothes that do not make the most of their figure.0

I'm right there with you! I'm going to add one more thought...dress for your age!!! Yeah, I can wear teen clothes but I don't, it's just wrong. I see soooo many women trying to dress younger and all it does is age them. I'm jusy sayin'0 -
Funny you said that because the 14 y/o I was appaulled by, her mother was dressed the same way. Mom is extremely skinny and waaaaay older.
Whats even more disturbing! When I take my 10 year old shopping for a bathing suit! Or her first bra.
Bras- Why must they be padded? Whats the underwire for? Training to get used to when the wire pops out and stabs you in the ribs? I mean Really?!?!?!
Bathing suits- Talk about over sexualizing children. Its near impossible to find one that covers the rear completely and do they even make one pieces for children anymore?
My daughter has been wearing sports bras and has said this summer, she'll just swim in shorts and a tee-shirt. She likes the boyshorts cut bathing suits, but we can't find them anywere. And if its a 2 piece, she'd prefer a tank top type top to cover her belly.
When you look at the clothes for young girls, I can't understand why people are surprized that 12 year olds are getting pregnant. They see it, hear it, and wear it....so why not do it?
When I get the body I'm working so hard for, I plan to dress in a way that shows my work..... BUT WITHIN REASON! If I can put on a bikini and love how I look, I will. But I'll wear it to the beach or pool, not the grocery store. If my legs look good enough to put on short shorts, I will. But not to play with my kid at the park AND not so short my bootie shows. I'd like to wear a sexy dress to the club, but not to my daughters dance recital. You know what I mean?0 -

Thx for that visual. Now I'm imagining ladies at the store in bikinis.
(you didn't see me here......):glasses: I'm in time-out.0 -

Everything trickles down from Juniors to the little girl sizes. It's a shame that you can't find her a swimsuit that covers her bottom. My neighbor had the same problem and her daughter is 17! Not everyone wants their butt hanging out.
I'm doing exactly what you said you were going to do when you get your new bod, showing it off but within reason. I'm having lots of fun doing it too!0 -
...it's pretty sad when you can say that a 14-year-old has cellulite! It's also quite true, thanks to the way we're ballooning up as a country...0
