Lengths you'll go to exercise

So I was totally desperate to start up NROL4W (The New Rules of Lifting for Women) and had planned on going to the YMCA to begin this afternoon. Until I noticed they don't offer child care on Sat/Sun ;_; Being new to weight lifting I decided to give the workout a "trial run" and practice the routine here at my house.
Problems: No stairs to step on for step-up. No stability ball for prone jackknife.
Solution: CREATIVITY
I actually went out into our shop and dragged in the router table. Yes. My router table. Took care not to stomp the center bit and used that baby as my stepper! And a good 1.5' one at that. Then I roamed the yard (it was dark) to find my daughter's ball. You know...those big ones they sell in giant basket racks at Wal-Mart. Hello, stability ball (and also holy crap it might've made the move harder). Finished my trial routine with 10 pounds of weight but I feel great that 1) I did it and 2) I got a feel for the moves when it comes time to go to the big boy gym.
I've also been known to improvise milk jugs for weights =D
My question for you guys: What sort of weird lengths/substitutions have you gone to get a workout finished?!
