Hello!
This past week was my first on a healthier lifestyle and I dropped 5 pounds which is a lot so I'm worried it may be water weight.
I always drink at least 9 cups (72 ounces) per day. Could it be water weight?

Some of it was probably water weight, but that's okay. When I eat lots of sodium and don't drink enough water, I end up gaining water weight for a couple of days. I generally average anywhere from 96oz to 1 gallon of water a day. If I just drink water all day it's closer to 1 gallon, but if I drink other things its closer to 96oz.
Causes to retain water:
1) Not getting enough water (odd as it sounds)
2) High intake of sodium
3) Muscle repair after working out
4) Around TOM for women
I'm sure there are other reasons, but this is what I can think of off the top of my head. It won't impact fat loss, if that's what your worried about.0
