Right now I have my diary set to MFP values and I just calculated my TDEE via http://iifym.com/iifym-calculator/
MFP says I should eat 1200 calories a day, workout for 45 minutes 5x a week to burn 1.5 pounds a week.
The TDEE calculator I used says I should be eating 1988 calories a day in order to burn maximum fat and have a steady weight loss. Says my TDEE is 2485 thus 20% of 2485 is 497. 2485-497 = 1988. Also says that I should be eating 1 gram of protein per pound of weight, thus 157 grams of protein a day.
Which one would everyone recommend? Before I had surgery and was working out every day for almost 2 hours a day, I was dropping weight like crazy and was on a 1200 calorie diet, eating 1/2 my workout calories back, but now that I'm not working out as heavy as before I'm not dropping much at all, which I know is because I'm not working out as much or as hard but I feel like I'm not eating correctly(enough calories) either (even though I have a hard time some days of hitting 1200 calories.

I have set my calorie goals here on MFP as my TDEE calorie goals and I'm going to try it for a few weeks but it seems silly because if you eat 2000 calories a day, you maintain your weight and my TDEE is (I used two different sites and used the lower of the two) 1891. I'm not sure how I can lose if I'm barely under the maintain your weight calorie goal.

Can someone help explain?0 -
I've heard that MFP puts you a bit lower than you should be, but I think this is an ongoing debate. I know, from my own experience, that 1200 is WAAAAY too low for me.
What if you tried to do a number between the two and see how that works for a while? 1500?
Good luck!
