goal calories and net calories

Hello
I need a little clarification on this one. I have a goal of 1200 calories a day.B
But I exercise loads burning between 200 and 600 plus calories a day.
Is it the net calorie I should be meeting the goal of 1200 or is it actually how many ive eaten?
A little confused as I have read a lot of different things about this.
So far I have lost 10lbs in 22 days
got another 17lbs to lose to reach my target.
Thanks all

I eat until mfp tells me I have 0 calories remaining (net calories). So I "net" 1200, but consume anywhere from 1500-2200 a day. And 10lbs in 22 days is pretty aggressive. I wouldn't expect to maintain that rate of loss for long.0
