Wow its been 2 months exactly since I started MFP and this new way of eating :) Started at 187 and today weighed in at 166.4 :):)

I see it coming off slowly on the scale but I don't see it in the mirror :( I signed up at the gym 3 weeks ago and go 4-5 times a week but have not been doing alot of weight machines..mainly do the treadmill & stationary bike for cardio (fat burn)

My main problem is belly fat, but i heard/read that doing concentration work on that area will actually make it look bigger as u build muscle there so have avoided it :(
Cant wait till it is gone some and then i may be able to firm it up, i sure dont want to think i am going to lose the weight and then have this pouch of flab & fat on the belly :(

Wish everyone luck..

Your doing great. Some lifting and toning will help with inches lost as well. It won't be as noticable on the scale but the mirror will show. Keep up good work

You are doing awesome! Your fear, is my greatest fear! The pouch and flab. I have already occured this, with loosing 35lbs so far. My problem is, I have a extremely large upper umbliical hernia and the doctor has restricted me to only walking, at 2.0, and riding a bike. I bought a Richard Simmons dance video and she won't even allow me to do it. 15 more lbs off and I can hopefully get the surgery done. Keep up the great work!!

I suggest you start weight training because muscle burns fat. The more you have, the more fat you will burn. Also, you can work your stomach/ab muscles just so long as you're getting MORE cardio than strength. I do strength training (where I do ab and back workouts, a short all over circuit - fast cardio and strength mixed together -, and routines with weights) 3x per week but try to do cardio 6x per week. So I'm getting a lot of cardio in but also getting my strength... more cardio than strength so I haven't had to worry about my stomach looking bigger because of the muscle. Also, it's going to take a while to build muscle in your abs so start now!!!

Your weight loss may come easier once you start weight lifting because of the muscle's help burning the fat. Try it! Make sure, also, you're eating most, if not all, of your exercise calories because you could be undereating.

Thank you all for the advise & motivation..went to gym today and did treadmill for 20 minutes at 2.5- 3.0 speed and keep raising and lowing the inclines so gave me a good workout. Then did the machines, worked the Abds, arms, and leg presses :)

Its also 92 degrees and I am sweating bullets LOL...
Went to Walmart and bought a tape measure..gonna measure myself now and hope I am not too shocked, havent done this in years LOL..
