SERIOUS QUESTION

I ran a 5k on Saturday in the rain wearing one of those dri-fit shirts that they give away at most of the 5k's nowadays. when I got thru, my nipples were perky (I am a guy, btw) and hurt like hell. Now, two days later, they hurt whenever they are under the shower and stay hard most of the time... anybody have an opinion as to what the hell happened?

The shirt got you aroused? j/k Probably they rubbed and got a little raw. Not sure if the shirts are coated with anything that may have exacerbated the issue. I'd give them as much air time as possible and let them heal.0

Hahahaha.
Bandaids bro. Or a bra.
You got chafed up, must have been really wet if that happened in 5k.0 -
It's completely normal with running. Either let your nipples toughen up with time, or use a chafe guard (like Glide) or even bandaids like another poster suggested.0

Dry fit can rub them raw, wet or dry. I tape mine on long runs with Nexcare foam tape. It sticks well without sticking too well, because removal is a *****(hair and stuff). If my bike jerseys are not tight enough, the same thing can happen on a windy ride. Raw nipples hurt like hell.0

Sooooo glad I'm a chick! Sports bras are amazing. Sorry you've gotta go through that!0 -
Happens on bike rides too. Had to google that, as it happened a few times. And I was like. What. The. Flying...0

Yeah, running excites me too.
I have enough chest hair to not worry about this issue but if you don't then you can put band aids over your nipples or you might try something like Body Glide to keep the friction down.0 -
I wear an under armour compression top and have never had an issue....0
