1 gallon of water a day??? WHAT???

A lot of people have asked me... "Well how do you manage to drink a gallon of water a day"

Here is my answer...

I have a gallon of water that I pretty much carry around with me... (yes its heavy)

Throughout the day I use it..not only to drink but to use it with meals and such... this is what I do.

I drink it to take my morning vitamins.
I use it in my post work out shake.
I use it in my lunch (I usually have eggs and to make them more "fluffy" I add water (from the gallon)

That is about a half gallon right there..its not even 1pm yet.

My afternoon tea..(I use my water from the gallon)
For dinner, I mix it in whatever foods I am cooking
at 9pm I have a lemon water drink that is nice and warm...theres more water
I also have a banana smoothie...yep I add more water.

Then the rest is left for me to drink.
And there you have it... my schedule to drink a gallon of water a day.
Not only is my face clear and glowing, I have so much energy. Yes I pee a lot...it's all part of the job =)

Thanks for reading.

I'm 100% with you on this. I'm closer to 1.5 gallons a day normally and even more than that on WO days. After my coffee, that's all I have to drink. Never leave the house without it. Easy peasy! Cheers!! :drinker:

I get pretty darn close to a gallon a day. It's not hard. I rarely drink anything else.

I fill up my gallon and put it on my desk. Just keep refilling my cup all day. :drinker: It's not hard if you have it sitting there and see it and know that's how much you have to drink.

I believe I'm just over a gallon a day, and on WO days, closer to two. Great post!

During training I drink 1 gallon, then another gallon through the day. Just get a big bottle. It's not hard at all.

I drink about a gallon and a half as well. I have a 28 oz water bottle, which I like because refilling it gives me a chance to get up from my desk and stretch my legs. I drink 2 bottles before lunch, 2 after, and 2-4 more after work and through the evening.

I am also making it to just over a gallon day. Fill it up in the morning and then user/drink all day. Your plan makes it simple to put into action!!

Good for you. I drink at least 3 liters. I have an app that I keep track of my water intake. I take a bottle with me when I go out and it's a Nalgene that's marked so I know how much I've had. People need to do whatever motivates them most. I keep a jug of filtered water in the fridge and try to consume it in a day. I also drink green tea, which counts.

when i'm at my most motivated, I shoot for a gallon and a half. I use a 32 oz cup to get the job done. fill it once before breakfast, drink a second one during breakfast and until lunch, a third with lunch and the following few hours. Then while at work I use my 32oz bottle and usually fill it 3 times while there. after a while, it's mindless!

question - so it is a fact then that if I drink so much water, I need to pee like every 15 min and I'm completely normal for this right? lol (not really joking lol)....

I would like to get to the point of drinking 1 gallon a day, but I have to know about the bathroom break part. As it stands, I have to use the restroom every 45 minutes at least. I don't know if I could leave a long meeting twice for a potty break. Do you find that your body "get used to" that much water and you can go longer without emptying your bladder?

I really need to try and drink a bit more than I do.

I love water, so there is no excuse.

I drink at least 120 oz a day. I typically use a 12 oz cup throughout the day.

1 cup (12 oz) when I wake up.
1 cup when I get back from my walk/after AM exercise
1 cup while I'm floating around getting ready for work
2 cups (12 oz each) hot tea at work
Fill same cup with ice water at least 2 more times at work
That leaves 3 more cups full with dinner, watching TV, playing on the internet, before bed.

I too easily drink at least a gallon a day. I do the treadmill in the morning and usually drink at least 1 20 oz bottle then usually drink another before going to work. I keep a 1 liter bottle on my desk that I fill throughout the day. I usually have finished it twice before 2 p.m and started on it again. Then if I'm riding after work there's probably another liter. All in all it's very easy for me to drink a gallon and on many days a lot more. I'm not even counting what may be in my food.

    Sigh... Why?
    Yes I pee a lot.
I have to use the restroom every 45 minutes at least
i find myself going all day long
I need to pee like every 15 min

If you are peeing a lot that means you are drinking too much water. Water may be good , but more does not always equal better. Your kidneys do a pretty good job but "flushing" them with lots of water is not necessary - in fact you may lose some water soluble nutrients.

Remind yourself of the weight of that gallon of water. Each pound of it is calorie free bodyweight that will actually equate to an extra, albeit small, caloric burn. Plus, your brain and muscles will function better, and you'll be much less likely to snack when you're full of it

If you like it, go for it, but you really don't need to force yourself--it's not necessary to drink that much:
To replace daily losses of water, an average-sized adult with healthy kidneys sitting in a temperate climate needs no more than one liter of fluid, according to Jurgen Schnermann, a kidney physiologist at the National Institutes of Health.
Doctors from a wide range of specialties agree: By all evidence, we are a well-hydrated nation. Furthermore, they say, the current infatuation with water as an all-purpose health potion -- tonic for the skin, key to weight loss -- is a blend of fashion and fiction and very little science.
