What is this "spell" that chocolate has over me?

I have been doing this for 7 months. And have been rather satisfied with my weight loss except things have slowed down significantly the last two months. I don't crave sweets, or fried food or anything else really, but I still crave chocolate. What is up with that and why can't I seem to shake it. I eat it within my goals, but good grief!

If you are within your goals, why stress about it?

I agree. If you are losing and in your goals it is okay.

I eat chocolate almost every day. I buy protein bars and powders that contain chocolate. I also keep a huge bag of Hershey's miniatures (Krackel, Special Dark, Milk Chocolate, Mr. Goodbar) which are 42 cals/piece. One serving is 5 pieces @ 210 calorie total. No guilt here.

Me too, Hershey's syrup is one thing that fills my craving but doesn't trigger a binge. I'd eat chocolate daily like above posters mentioned, but it trigger binges for me, every time :(

switch to some high quality dark chocolate ...... way more satisfying and you won't plow though it like cheap milk chocolate

I buy a nicer chocolate now and enjoy it in small amounts. It lasts longer the more I paid for it too, but I'm a bit cheap.

Like an earlier post stated, it's the hormones - chocolate triggers the "feel good" hormones and helps you feel good about yourself (why do you think Lupin keeps giving it to Harry Potter?). As long as you're meeting your goals, i wouldn't worry about it.
