Milk and sugar

I am having a difficult time with my milk consumption. Per MFP I am only to have 24g of sugar but a glass of milk has 12g. I am over everyday with my sugar before I even have dinner. Should I cut out milk? Any ideas would be appreciated.

I consider the milk in sugar in the same way I consider milk in fruit. I substract it. It is naturally occuring, not added. You should not cut out milk. Milk is incredibly important for bone density and provides lots of nutrients that your body needs. Studies have shown that people who consume 24 oz of dairy per day have lower body fat than those who don't drink milk. I get a lot of dairy, and have been successfully losing about 1 pound per week, which is my goal. Worry about added sugars, not naturally occuring sugars like lactose.0
