How effective is a waist trimmer belt?

I bought a waist trimmer belt (not the electronic one) and you're suppose to wear it around your waist while exercising, but has anyone known for it to be effective? I do have a bigger waist, so I'd like to target that area. I'm aware you can't target a certain area of your body with exercise but i'm curious to see if someone else has used one and their results.
