Hi guys, I thought I would come here for support. I am in my late teens and I weight 118 pounds I'm female and 5' 5'' I have abs and only 17% body fat (calculations online may not be right) I'm always trying to diet and can never cope with it when I go over 1500 calories a day, is this normal?

The title of your post is the answer to your question...you have an eating disorder or if not full blown the start of one. Seek help and please eat normally and healthily for your age, you are so young still.0

I do try and eat healthy but I snack all morning and can't even look at dinner without crying0

As somone who suffered with an ED and still copes daily.... You really need to seek a counslor or doctor!! Your height and weight is perfect...... You really need to focus on all your good qualities. It is so easy to focus on the bad.
I would suggest you write yourself little post it notes and stick them around your house. "I am beautiful" "I love my eyes" "I have a great sense of humor" "I am a great friend" .... find ways to love YOU.
From the sounds of things you will probably always have a bad relationship with food...... take this from someone who struggles almost daily. But you can learn to eat right, eat/ snack healthy, balance food and exercise.....you CAN do it. Its very mental and its a lot of work - but it can be done!! Posting this means you want to find that balance - but you may need help beyond yourself.0 -

I would go and explain how you feel to your doctor.
I've been where you are and it only went downhill from there - I HAD to run for an hour a day, I HAD to eat X calories or the guilt would be overwhelming. It wasn't normal or healthy. When I got help, took a break from exercising and started eating 2300+ calories I saw how ridiculous I was being - I didn't suddenly balloon up overnight. Take a day off from your cardio, you won't gain weight - try challenge your irrational thoughts. I really recommend talking to someone - even just a friend or family member to start you off.0 -
In the most unsnarky way possible: Please see a therapist. What you're saying here is not normal, and it's not ok. You will not talk yourself out of an eating disorder by getting advice from people on a discussion forum. I hope you will get help for yourself. Good luck to you.0

Hello, my name is Lesa and yes, I totally get what you are going through.
The men are correct, it is a psychological issue to be able to wrap your head around eating. I know on one hand you want to feel better about yourself, but on the other, you may be thinking you like what you are doing and do not want help, well, that was how I used to feel anyway.
There is something that has happened to you that has made you feel this way. If you know what it is, you may be able to work it out through group therapy or finding a support group that has endured the same experience. If you have no earthly idea why you are doing this to yourself, I strongly suggest a therapist.
I had therapy for 3 years and I have to say, it was one of the best things I ever did for myself. Not only did I learn to love me, I also learned to forgive myself for things I found unspeakable, but was able to talk about after my beloved therapist gained my trust.
I am a recovering alcoholic with 5 years and 34 weeks sober. I work with women all over the world on how to over come adversity and live life on lifes terms with out hurting ourselves. Please feel free to reach out to me in private if you would like to talk. At the very least, I can try to lead you into the direction you need to go.
Do not forget, food is not the enemy, the enemy is between your ears.
HUGS

Set your goals. If you really want it, you can do it. It requires a lot of patience, you won't lose weight in a snap. It may take weeks or months but it'll be worth it. Whatever the outcome is will depend on how you behave with your diet and exercise, and it should be balanced.
At first, you really gain weight after an intense work out. Doesn't mean that you're fat, muscles weigh more than fat.
Remember, you will gain before you lose. Take measurements.0 -

I'm just going to reiterate what everyone else is saying. You need to see a Doctor.0

I don't know how to talk to a doctor or anything like that!
Your profile says you are recovering from bulimia, how exactly are you in recovery?
Where you live should have a mental health facility, call it and tell who ever answers the phone that you have an eating disorder and would like help for it.
You do not need to know how to do anything when you get there, that is what doctors go to school for. They will talk to you and, although it may take a little time, you can find the answers and truly recover.
So if you would like help, I will be happy to find someone for you to talk to. If you are just here for the attention, I am going about my merry way. The choice is yours.0 -
From your pics I don't see why you feel this way but I am sorry you do. If you are concerned about calorie intake try to mostly snack on veggies like celery and use hummus as a dip if you don't like the taste. A normal amount of exercise is great but not if you are doing it to punish yourself! Find some supportive friends and maybe a counselor. If you can't afford therapy you can always seek counsel from a church.0
