Easy First Week? Beginner's Grace Period?

So, I've been tracking my meals and exercise through MFP for just over and week and have found it surprisingly easy. I've been 100-300 calories under my daily net calories (I eat back my cals lost during exercise) for the last three days. Feel free to check out my diary. I feel full and satisfied at the end of the day. I actually feel really good at the end of the day, like I've won the battle (the war is not yet over).
Is this a fluke? Is it going to get more difficult? Or did I finally just have the "a-ha moment" where it all clicked and that's just the way it is? I know this isn't a diet, it's a lifestyle change, so this isn't something short term for me. I feel like I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop now though.
Let me know if anyone else has had this please! I'm curious....

Every body is different. Just wait and see if your eating habits are giving you the results that you want.0

I think it probably is a bit of beginner's luck there. I think it is easy to follow the eating plan so long as I take the time to plan and don't eat out. As soon as I start eating meals out (without previously checking calorie content), or have drinking events is when it gets a whole lot harder. Also, it is easy to give up bad foods for a while, but then after a few weeks is when I start wanting them again.
That's good though that you are able to enjoy low calorie/healthy meals. I think that is most people's problem who fail!0 -
i thought the exact same thing my first month here, i was like...c'mon this is easy.
it probably had a lot to do with all the extra fat i was carrying where having large calorie deficit was not a problem.
then it hit me, i felt famished and my initial calorie goal was not cutting it, and on top of that because i had 10 lbs, MFP wanted to keep lowering my daily calories. I didnt like the idea, so instead of lowering my calories I listened to what my body was telling me and i upped my calories to something i cold sustain for a longer period.
im still waiting for that feeling again and i'll probably up my calories again.
listen to your body and adjust accordingly, if you are working out a lot, make sure you fuel those workouts
best of luck0 -
I started out the same way, but as I get closer to my goal weight I find myself making too many allowances for poor eating choices.
I think it's my own fault for having my calorie goal too low, especially for my height, and I make up for the calorie deficit on weekends with poor meal planning and peer pressure
It seems like you are really good about ordering healthier alternatives at restaurants, but I don't have that self-control and if I were to go to Smashburger, I would order a burger, haha. SO that definitely works in your favor.
Keep doing what you're doing, but don't ever let yourself feel bad if you have a bad day or if it becomes harder down the line. Weight loss isn't one size fits all or even one size fits forever. Keep it up. girl.0 -
Thanks guys!! I just want to make sure I'm mentally prepared for the road ahead.0

This is my biggest concern. Thank you so much for the words of advice!0
