Skewed Calorie Loss?

I've been keeping an eye on some of my friend's exercise feeds, and while I don't doubt they're working their butts off (literally!), I doubt how high some of the numbers that are being generated.
Even after I've finished my own work outs, my treadmill will tell me how many calories I've lost, and when I go to log it, MFP is always absurdly high. Has anyone else found this? Or am I the one with the wonky machines?

calorie burns vary greatly from person to person - how much you weight makes a huge difference (heavier you are, more you burn), also, how hard you work makes a huge difference too.
I weight lift for about 95 minutes three times a week - I typically burn about 600 calories in the 90 minutes but someone much larger than me would burn a lot more than that.0 -
Yes, MFP numbers can be high. As long as you're losing consistently, I wouldn't stress over how accurate your cals burned numbers are. If you're not losing, then you're prob not burning as many as you (or MFP/machines) think and you're eating too much. Just lower it a little and re-*kitten*.
I wouldn't worry about what other people are burning unless they mention it or ask for help.0 -

I hate to tell you this ..... but your machines number is not totally correct either.
Calorie burn depends upon many factors: height, weight, age, gender, exertion level as well as others. *Exertion level ..... a hard workout for you & a hard workout for me .... are not the same.
What type of info do you put into the machine? If the machine does not know your gender .... it assumes. If the machine does not know your age .... it assumes.
The best "guestimate" for calorie burns is to use a heart rate monitor with a chest strap ..... better ... still not 100%0
