At home lifting for beginners?

Hi. I want to start lifting and/or resistance training at home. I have read NROLFW and its very good. However I don't have a bench and free weight bar yet and some of their exercises require that. I have some dumb bells (various weights) and a swiss ball. Is there a routine out there that I can do with what I have now? I would like something fairly simple to start off with, as I am relatively new to this. I also do cardio (elliptical/spin bike) several days a week but am convinced that I need to add weight training to my routine.
Any advice on a 'set program' I could start would be great. I do not have access to a DVD machine at the moment.
Thanks!
