I am 43 years old and just started to get back on track with my goals about a month ago and doing well. This time I found myself getting more into healthier foods and "cleansing my body". Don't take me wrong, I still treat myself and can enjoy an outing with my 13 year old who enjoys everything that is not bolted down and potentialy edible. My problem is, how should I say...? Maybe menopausal? I have been taking the pill and a week and a half ago I finished (heavier then most times) and was happy it was over...who wouldn't be? Yesterday, I started again! I thought at first I was just spotting, but today was a strong day with 4 changes, not the heaviest I have had, but heavy enough after just having it a just a short time ago. This is what I have thought about....
1)I missed 1 day on my pill pack, but it was the week before my "sugar pills" (yes I still have sex and regularly).
2) I was told by a Doctor about 6 years ago I was pre-menopausal and due to having diabetis after my son was born and seeing him due to large cysts on my overies it was no surprize.
3) I got some intestinal virus just after this past Thanksgiving that ended with me fighting Fischers (sp?) for 2 months. Once cleared up, I went back on my weight loss plan.
4) I work 2 jobs and have been pulling extra time (about 70) hours/week for about 4 months.
I know my body is going to react to what I am doing to it in diferent ways, but can it result in throwing the cycles off this much even while on birth control? Or am I looking at menopause (...as the doctor says...."at your age....")? I have considered going to the doctor and/or possibly getting a menapause test, but I don't know what I am looking at and don't want to waste the money. Anyone have and thoughts on this? Or experience this? I would love to hear what you have to say.
