Hi everyone!! I am getting married next year and I recently purchased my wedding gown. I want to start toning my arms and back because my gown is strapless and has somewhat of a low back. I need advice! I have never really lifted weights (except for those 2lb hand weights I have at home, and I have never used them in any consistent manner) and I am not sure where to start. I have tried looking online but there is SO much information out there.
I am a member at planet fitness but a lot of the weight machines intimidate me. I thought about trying to set up an appointment with a personal trainer, but I thought I would turn to you all first. Please help!!

Go to any book store and there will be dozens of books on lifting. Just pick one and do the routines. Lift hard and don't injure yourself. But don't just focus on back and arms: whole body exercises are where it's at. Deadlifts, incline and decline presses, etc. Good luck.... you will look amazing.0

Alright lets build some muscle. I would do the Assisted Pull up machine and the lat pulldown machine at your gym and really work on using good form and hitting those lat muscles. On the pulldown machine you can switch up the different bars. Use the wide grips, med grips, hammer ones (It's the thing where there are two bars and you make a fist in each hand and they face each other).
Do some curls for your biceps dumbbell, barbell, preacher (that's the funny looking bent bar) go wild. Then hit your triceps do some rope pull downs or some push downs usually on some cable machine. If you're feeling really saucy try some assisted dips or some dumbbell rolling tricep extensions.
Lastly, Don't neglect your shoulders. Do some overhead presses and some side raises.
I hope your wedding is wonderful!0
