Dumb moments with food

Ok, bit of a confession... I never realised that chewing gum had calories until the other day when I took the time to read the label and being 100% I was gobsmacked! It wasn't that I didn't know, I just didn't think there could be any in there!
So I started wondering if anyone else has had moments like this? if so, spill the beans and make me fell less silly

I never realized how many calories mints had. I would grab a candy mint from the reception desk about 5-6 times a day before a meeting never really thinking about it. I looked it up one day and the 6 mints were around 100 calories. It never occured to me to count those. I just figured they were low in calories, but why would they be. It's candy. That was my "duh" moment.0

I knew it couldn't be just me! I think anything mint we just assume that it is relatively calorie free...

Long ago before MFP I used to eat 3-4 of those "100 calorie" snack packs. I figured, oh they're only 100 calories, what's the harm? Didn't really get the idea that you're only supposed to have one of them... haha.0

I had t explain to my husband that just because something is fat free does not mean it is free of calories! lol0 -
For me it was fruit/sugar.
Like when cherries come in to season, my family/friends each buy a bag or basket and course demolish to them- couldn't be so bad, because it's fruit, right? Nature's candy! Wrong! Too much sugar is still too much sugar.
(no wonder you get the runs from eating so many cherries- sugar-laden fibre overload!!)0 -
