It's extremely hard to eat healthy when your children don't
I'm sitting there drinking my chocolate milk and eating my 2nd peanut butter, jelly, banana sandwich for lunch. My son is on my lap babbling with a cracker. He starts to shove the cracker into my mouth. its a grahm cracker and half eaten and soggy. "No baby boy" I say, but he is only 1 and thinks its funny. So he smacks my eye ball with the back of his other hand, I yell ouch... and get a soggy cracker shoved into the back of my mouth.
My older two year old son, who can talk thinks this is great and takes his bag of multi colored goldfish and falcon punches me in the teeth. Several of the crackers make it into my mouth, and more end up all over. So sandwich is all over the couch, dripping. I have two toddlers scrounging up goldfish parts and forcing them into my mouth. I can't stand up, because I have two kids on me and crackers going every which way.
I have no idea how much of the grahm cracker or how many goldfish crackers 10-15?? I ate. My carbs must be though the roof and I'm complexity inaccurate in logging. I feel like I should just give in and not care anymore. I just want to break down in my bathroom and cry over a bottle of scotch.

You should go get your stomach pumped...quick before the carbs soak into your stomach!0

Thank you. This made me laugh.0

What are the point of these mocking threads?0

My kids what I eat or they don't eat! Also, kids need boundaries. If you don't want them putting crackers in your mouth (or putting the cat in the dryer) you need to make that clear. You are there to guide and shape them, not entertain them. Set your priorities. There are plenty of things you guys can have fun doing together besides playing hungry hungry hippo with mommy as the hippo.0

because its funny. And because the original posts are kind of ridiculous anyway. Saying you cant eat healthy because such and such in your life doesnt is just a cop-out. Eat the goddamn pancake or slice of cake or whatever, it wont kill you. Just make sure it fits into your macros or just exercise a bit more and stop blaming the people around you. Thats the point.0 -

They are generally used to flush out the community members that have no sense of humor.0 -

Are you suggesting we all team up and shove crackers in my wife's mouth? You might be onto something.0 -
This does happen... but honestly... I figure it comes out in the wash... the little buggers are always eating my stuff.
Not sure why I measure and weigh anything... my food always look better than theirs.... at least that's what I think they mean when they throw theirs on the floor and put their grimy paws in my plate or jerk the fork on the way to my mouth out of my hand.....0 -
Also, i think the people taking this seriously are actually more funny cause its like it went right over their heads.0

Okay, yes it is funny, but some people just don't know and need real support and advice on how to not give into those cravings, or recipes for a healthier pancake.. not to be mocked by seasoned veterans of the boards. What are the point of these mocking threads?

I'm sorry. I'm not mocking anyone. I have two unruly children who force food on me and derail my diet. Anyone who takes offense to my situation, I deeply and humbly apologize.0

Haha.
I had to put a clause in my "no-sweets for the year" goal. That if pressed by my kids. I would suck it up and do it for them.
Can't have kids crying over candy.
Plus we DO tell them to try EVERYTHING, at least once.0 -
Ugh... sounds like a rough day. But, I love how you describe it... it made me laugh. On a more serious note: how about feeding your kids healthy foods? Get rid of the graham crackers, goldfish, and other junk food. It's not good for you and it isn't good for them either. Kids don't "need" highly processed foods. Give them almonds (slivered or sliced if you're concerned about choking), carrots, cheery tomatoes, chunks of cheese, celery with peanut butter, bananas and peanut butter, sunflower seeds, roasted pumpkin seeds (watch the salt), pecans, walnuts, fresh fruit, dried fruit, granola... the list goes on. It doesn't have to be items that require you to stand over a stove. Just plain and simple good quality food.0

The support group is in another section doll. This is the Chit-Chat, Fun, and Games section. I personally keep it light in this section and everything I post is all in good fun. Motivation, Support, and those other sections are exactly for that.
It's all part of the learning curb when one gets on here.0 -
It happens everyday with my two daughters 14 months and my oldest turning 3 in aug .Yep they eat diferently than me to say the least. If one doesnt finish there food I end up eating whats left most of the time.My oldest is extremely picky my youngest eats everything.Wish I could get my oldest to eat like we all do,no luck so far . Your post made me laugh because its the truth and for those who dont have children not sure they would understand, just imagine a tiny human being shoveling food into your mouth with no regard to wether you will choke or not. They think you must eat it all not just some and with such stamina a eating contest contestant would be impressed. Hope you can get away fast ,turn on some cartoons and run....lol0

If you are even serious... My son is almost 2 and tries to shove things in my mouth too, but I don't feed him anything I wouldn't eat anyway, if I even let my mouth open for him. I just tell him no thank you and take it from him and feed it back to him.0

Oh my god, I am frigin DYING at the OP's post. That is the funniest mental image EVER!0

Or maybe they're just new here and didn't realize that it was a joke.
Is there some sort of cliff notes rule book for this place or do we just joke & rate everything?0 -
I see this is for fun,Im sure that the few crackers that make it in dont account for to much if your concerned just your kids around and the minimal calories will disappear.0

If your children don't eat healthy, then you may be to blame.0

Remarkably effective at that they are too.0 -
LOL! Spit them at your children, like little flying fish spitballs. But then that would make it a game...0

I think you'll burn off those uncountable calories when you chase after your children that have gotten into mommies secret bedside table drawer, so I wouldn't worry about it!

I don't know how much you have tested your kids to get them to eat better food, but maybe if you offer them something better they will like it. My kids go nuts over healthier options. If I ask them "Do you want chips or strawberries and cheese?" They jump up and down hollering for strawberries and cheese. It can be done.0
