Airplane Snacks - Any Suggestions?

I'm going to Las Vegas in a couple of days and I plan on bringing a couple of sample packages of PB2 and crackers onto the plane instead of eating their high cost/high caloric offerings. Anyone have any other suggestions? What would you bring?

I usually throw in an apple and some raw almonds. I also bring my good metal water bottle (empty through security) then fill it up and keep myself hydrated. the little glass of water they give you on the plan is a joke.0

Some small turkey sandwiches and laughing cow wedges (swiss or strawberry cream cheese one..delish) with strawberries sound satisfying. You can pack them in a small lunch box no problem Happy travels0

Apple, almonds, Granola bar, and hummus with pretzels (sabra makes single serving cups) were the last snacks I took when flying. And when I got to the airport I bought a large bottled water and a cup of pineapple. But next time I am bringing an empty reusable water bottle to get water after past security, because I am trying to go more "green".0

Ah, you have so many options! I love being creative when planning out healthy snacks..
Baby Carrots + Spicy Mustard
Raw Veggies + Lite Yogurt Dressings
Almonds
Pistachios
Organic Granola
Apple Slices + Almond Butter
Homemade Trail Mix
Dried Fruits, Unsweetened [Papaya, Pineapple, Apple, Mango]
Cheese + Crunchy Flatbread Crackers
Greek Yogurts
Pitas + Hummus
Good luck, and have a blast on your trip!!0 -

Grapes and carrots are my go-to on the go snacks.0

Protein Bars
I second/third almonds
Fruits and Vegies - Will security let you bring them? I know this may sound dumb but not sure if TSA allows perisherable foods on board. In fact wasn't there a thing where you couldn't bring any food/liquids unless it was purchased after the scanners?
I haven't flown in so long I can't remember.
Also remember liquids must be so many oz's0 -
for longer-haul flights I bring oatmeal or soup (the dried kind in the bowl-like container where you just add boiled water) and ask the flight attendant to pour hot water in it for me. don't forget to bring a plastic spoon if you go that route.
gobites have awesome pre-packaged snacks and bigger picnic boxes for longer flights.
I actually take an insulated cooler bag with me like the flight attendants do (ebags.com) and, once I've gone through security, fill some ziploc bags with ice from one of the restos in the airport and then my food will stay cold as long as I want, which allows me to pack sandwiches, salads, whatever.
good luck -- it is indeed possible to stay within your targets if you plan ahead! you're on the right track already just by thinking about this!0 -
Thanks all! Those are great ideas!0
