So, I made a bad breakfast decision, but I brought my lunch. Plan on walking at least 30 minutes today so should have approx. 600 calories for dinner. Any ideas on something easy, quick, and healthy that I can have for dinner for less than 600 calories?

I just posted about making a bad lunch decision. It must be one of those days LOL. However, I already know what we're having for dinner, and I have already logged that. Dinner is @ 315 calories and we are having grilled pork boneless loin, sauteed squash, and green beans. it's quick, easy, and yummy. Good luck!

That does sound yummy! I think I may be sticking with a green salad tonight. Not bad, but not what I wanted. I suppose I've learned one of the many lessons I'm sure to learn on this journey. :)

I have had the same problem except it is my dinner I mess up on. So I have started planning out my dinner and throw
everything into my **** pot before heading to work and have it ready after I get my walking in of an evening. It has helped me out greatly. Most days I have enough for my lunch the next day along with several other meals since I am alone. I can cook 3 meals and eat the rest of the week on it
You are doing great and keep it up!! :flowerforyou:

I would make a nice big salad with a can of tuna (I like the flavored snack size ones) add a bit of light dressing if you want and you'd only use 300 calories at most. You could add a smoothie too if you wanted for 200 cal.

That's plenty! The last time I saw this post I found a great recipe for slow cooker salsa chicken. It's even loaded in the data base! You may have to search for the specifics. It's about 150-160 calories per cup. Put chicken and jarred salsa into slow cooker. I think 3-4 hours on high is plenty of time. I usually add frozen corn and canned black beans drained (I think that the corn is part of the original recipe and calorie count) and serve on corn tortillas (50 cal each). So simple and yummy! And, you'll even have some calories left over! Fish, grilled chicken or eggs would work, as well!

4 oz grilled chicken breast (190)
    1 chopped apple (80)
2 cups mixed baby greens (15)
    1/4 cup feta cheese (100)
    3 oz newman's own light balsalmic (80)
    465 calories

    that's my dinner :)

Thanks, Mary! Great idea with the slow cooker! I should definitely be using it more anyway :)
Will make the chicken salsa soon and let everyone know how it is. Thanks, Mulligan!

Thanks for the salad ideas too!
Sounds like I'll be okay for dinner after all!! :)
