Really struggling!!!!!

Hi all,
Not sure anyone can help but thought it might help me a bit to put things down in words and get things off my chest. I am really struggling at moment to stick to any healthy eating or diet plan and I know the reason why but seem unable to find a solution.
I have a teenage daughter who has some serious issues at the moment and I am trying to get professional help for her, she is depressed and has just started cutting herself. It seems every day at the moment is bringing a new stress or problem.
My way of coping with stress is to exercise but at the moment i have a frozen shoulder so am resting it at so it can heal properly. So unable to exercise the stress away I am falling on old habits and resorting to food! Whilst I am at work I am ok, but as soon as I walk through the front door and something else happens with my daughter I reach for the fridge. I don't need the food I am not hungry it is all purely psychological and to do with stress.
Any exercises that are not going to jar or put any strain on my shoulder?

Sorry to hear about these issues, but why can't you run?
Running is great stress relief and has nothing to do with your shoulder.0 -
I have had two rotator cuff surgeries in the last two years. This is when I found walking. Walking turned into jogging (about two months after the second rotator cuff surgery) with my sling.
Anything with your legs. All I got for ya.
I hope it all gets better soon! I use exercise as an outlet too. If you have access to a punching bag...kick it! That helped me relieve stress when I couldn't punch it.0 -
Walking/jogging/running/treadmill
stationary bike of some sort (recumbent or upright being better than spinner I'd imagine)
are you in any building with stairs? or have access to a place with stairs? do a couple of trips up and down them.0 -

I have tried running but can feel it jarring in my shoulder :sad:0 -
I"m so very sorry and I do hope your daughter gets the helps she needs. As for you - you are no good to anyone else if you don't take care of yourself.
Why not go for a power walk. Understandably running may hurt the shoulder a bit,, but a good power walk would be good for you. Get some fresh air AND exercise!!
Put a note on the fridge to remind yourself to back away.
Inspirational notes in your bedroom, bathroom, car, work - to remind yourself you are worth it and you CAN do it!!!
Stay strong. Positive thoughts to you and your daughter!!0
