Hi
I was going to make pulled pork on Friday with some spicy sweet potato wedges, so thought I'd create the recepie in MFP so I can properly track the calories.
I started by adding the pork, so I selected pork loin @ 2500g (serving 4) and this alone came out at 4500 calories!!!!!!!
Can this be right?

2500g seems like a lot so I converted to lbs. Its 5.5 lbs which is way too much for 4 servings.0

sounds odd to me. While 2500 grams is a lot (2500 grams or 2.5 kilos is 5.5 lbs), pork loin is very lean whereas pork shoulder (aka Boston Butt) which is the cut of pork used to make pulled pork is very fatty. However, when I cook pulled pork in my outdoor BBQ/grill on a low/slow method a lot of fat renders out into my drip pan over the four hours or so of cokking. Ergo, the end product may be leaner than one suspects. I don't think it would be more calories than say a comparable amount of cooked 85% lean ground beef but I could be wrong.0

ahhaaa thats where I'm going wrong. I'm doing my conversions wrong.
lbs, oz, g, kg.......I can never remember which one I'm doing!!!
It should only be 2.5 lbs, and I've used 2500g thinking it's 2.5kg.
Blonde day today I think.
Thanks guys.0
