Weekends........

Although I do great at keeping to my calorie count during the weekday, I have just noticed that on the weekends I tend to snack more often than needed. I also find that it’s harder to find a meal that satisfies me even with snacks in between. It’s mostly because I’m bored or do not have anything to curb my horrible sweet tooth. Any suggestions???

I try to stay out of the house as much as possible or keep myself busy inside on the weekends. Sadly, there is no magic pill or mantra that will make boredom eating go away. I have to work at it day-by-day and hour-by-hour. Stop yourself when you catch a snack in your hand. Try delaying tactics (okay, if I wait one more hour I can have that snack) and drink lots of water. Take up a hobby that will keep your hands busy. if you have to, hide all the snacks in the back of a cabinet behind something heavy so that you have to work for them. Just do the best you can and remember that it's always going to be a work in progress.0

I find when I am home I want to eat more! I try to stay busy so I can avoid boredom eating. If you are every bored, use it as a opportunity to exercise - even if it's lunges while cleaning! - and then you would have burned off a few calories enough for a snack that should satisfy you.0

I find weekends are hard for me because I'm not on the same schedule as I am during the week when I'm at work. M-F I eat great, get all of my water in, etc. Weekends, because I sleep in, my day gets started later, dont think about drinking water, my week of planned meals has run out, etc. I have to be very conscious (sometimes I succeed, sometimes not) to watch the boredom eating creeping. Its an ongoing battle.0

I workout for an hour on Saturday and Sunday so I have extra calories to eat. I used to take Sunday as my rest day, but I found it difficult to stay in the lower calorie range on a day off from work, so I changed my rest day to Monday. So far it seems to be working. Plus, I get to sleep in on Monday mornings because I don't have to wake up an hour early to exercise.0
