Seeking words of wisdom and advise....

Sometimes it seems that I had more self control and willpower when I was 14 years old than what I do now at almost 25. When I was 14, I was a freshman in high school, was about 5'3", and weighed 160lbs. By the end of my freshman year I weighed 145lbs. By the time I finished high school I was 5'6" and still 145lbs, and remaind that same weight for the next several years. About 3 years ago, I gained 30lbs in a very short time. Since then I have been fighting to loose that weight but have been struggling bad. I keep trying to eat healthy and exercise regularly, but I just don't do as good a job of it as I did when I was 14. I don't know what to do. I'm stuck and constantly getting more and more frustrated and angry with myself. Any advice or words of wisdom on what I can do to fix this would help me so much.

You are on the right track. Try low-impact exercises to start with. Ellen Barrett's perhaps. Increase the intensity only when you are ready.

This thread really speaks volumes to me. I think about it when I am running and want to stop, when I want to eat everything in sight because I am bored, it's great and maybe it can help you too.

I don't know if this relates to you, but I eat nonstop in front of the TV.....my new rule is TV off at 9:00 and then I'll take a shower or read a book. Getting away from the couch keeps me from late night snacking. Hope that helps!0
