getting paid tons of money and not having to do any real work probably keeps you looking a bit younger.
    Not fair.

These guys put in a lot of work.

Working a manual labour job for 40+ years or being LL cool j........hmm I think I know who's more stressed out.

Also you missed out pharrell williams who actually looks younger than he did 10 years ago.

It's really easy to sit there at your keyboard and put down a bunch of incredibly successful people as lazy people who do no real work, isn't it?

Pathetic. You have absolutely no idea whatsoever what you're talking about.

Anyway, most of this is simply taking care of themselves. A lot of it is plastic surgery.

    "Rap suck!"

But I actually do like some of these guys. I would rather shoot my face off than listen to 5 seconds of lil wayne or most of the other dog crap out today.

I prefer the old school rap from the 80s and 90s. The stuff coming out today is crap. These rappers of today are only in it for the money. That's not to say the old school didn't do it for the money. They did, but at least they also focused on quality and content, unlike today's so called rappers who can only rap about how much money they make or how many cars they have. Nas had a point when he said Hip Hop is dead.

the 90's was way better than today for hip hop/rap today...although there are some rappers today that I like - Evidence, Kanye is ok, some of ASAP's *kitten* is allright...but I prefer old school for sure ...

Today its all club and I'm so rich *kitten* ughhhhh I know your a balla you ain't got to rap about it every five seconds...

So let me get this straight. Me back in the days working over 100+ hours as a clerk in a ghetto, getting shot at (literally) and constantly have to bicker with customers who were mostly drug dealers, druggies and/or hookers, wasn't hard work because it wasn't a manual labour? I mean, mainly I just pushed the button and took money (at least, thats how most of the people who haven't done this job sees it).

I'm not here to defend the celebrities but... they do live under stress too. We might not be able to appreciate it but money isn't everything. They are constantly harrassed. Constantly called a loser, fake, whatever. They have to socialize a lot more than most of us as a part of their "job description". They have to stay current with the show biz, gotta come up with new material and means to entertain.

    Right....you didn't work hard....you had a sh!tty job....two different things

So... can you define me which jobs are hard and which are not and which are just crappy jobs? I actually would like to see the list. Does a bomb squad worker who defuses bombs has a hard job or is it just crappy? The guy who have to write 18,000 lines of code from scratch within a month has a hard job or the guy who works at GM and who's only job is to tight a nut.

All I'm saying is your clerk job wasn't hard work....stressful, yes...but not hard. I don't know enough about defusing bombs or writing code to comment on that. But I did work as a mechanic for about five years. Most of the time it wasn't hard work. But sometimes it was. The production line worker at GM, who's only job is to tighten a nut, which I doubt that job actually exists, does not work hard.

Ice T is only 55? I would have guessed five to ten years older. And tbh with the exception of Eminem, they all look their age to me.

People with more melatonin always have better skin and look younger I think and most of them are. I'm 47 and no one believes I have a 25 yr old since I look way younger. I can tell you my fountain of youth but then I'd have to kill you.
    It's called melatonin.

    Just like my dad.

this reminds me of a real short poem.

True! Not all of today's rappers are bad. Other 21st century rappers and rap groups that are keeping it real include the likes of Lupe Fiasco, Talib Kweli, Mos def just to name a few. You should also listen to groups like Clear Soul Forces and Kooley High. Just hearing them you'd swear that they from the 90s, even they all came out after 2010. If you haven't heard of them it's probably because they're mostly underground. They're those kind of groups that'll probably never make it to the mainstream because it's those crappy so called rappers like Gucci Man and Nelly (remember him?) who get all the attention.

Its not just money though they market their music to a younger age bracket and visually some of them tend not to appear their age, although the new generation of rappers are rapping about things they have not experienced, that is why its Hip Pop now.

I've always been inspired by 50 Cent's music and career, G.R.O.D.T got me through school, it changed my mentality, that's what hip hop is to me, its music that speaks to you. real old school rap is superior than todays trash.

My mom is 51 and you'd swear she's in her mid-30s. People often mistake her for my sister or girlfriend when they see us together. My dad isn't too bad either. He's 55 and he could still pass for early 40s. I'm 31 and I've passed for 25, 23 and even as low as 20. Good genes are part of it, but I believe a healthy lifestyle plays a bigger role. Point being? A healthy lifestyle is the fountain of youth!

my mum at age 50 was mistaken for my sister and not thought to be a day over 30... she's now in her 60s and looks like she's in her 40s

and she has extremely pale skin, with ginger hair, freckles and she never tans.

I think genetics is part of it, but there's a lot more to it than skin colour. A lot of east Asians look very young, whether they have pale skin or darker skin.

Lifestyle is also a factor, my mum's always been a healthy weight, always eaten healthily and always been very active, i.e. walking everywhere, going hill walking, doing lots of gardening etc. She also doesn't use beauty products apart from light make-up and moisturiser (I think a lot of these anti-ageing creams do more harm than good). She also stays in the shade, due to the fact that she gets sunburn very easily, but spends a lot of time outdoors (wearing flowing dresses and big floppy hats).

I agree that people are just doing it for the money. Rappers are just rapping about what will get them a paycheck. They don't want rap with substance in mainstream. It's much deeper, but won't get into it here. I prefer old school rap as well. I'm more into being positive and reflecting. I still think hip hop is alive. I don't rely on mainstream to tell me what should be kept alive. I understand what you meant though.

you can't seriously tell me these guys with 20+ million in the bank are as stressed out about life as the average joe working to make ends meet.

I don't think they look any younger then they are.. I mean, they may look a few years off but nothing significant.

Also, I as a white chick, always get mistaken for younger then I am. I'm 25, and most people pass me off as 18.. 21 or 22 at the most.
What I'm doing, I don't know.. but I sure hope I keep doing it!
