Not really looking for replies, just need to vent a bit!
A few weeks ago I was eating quite healthily, enjoying the odd treat, staying within my calories (1370-1660 calories) having a wide range of foods and really feeling motivated! But at the moment I am really battling with food!
I have been told my kidney function is very low, so now I am seen in a pre-dialysis clinic where I also see a renal dietician. I can only have 55g of protien a day, 1 pint of dairy a day and really limit the amount of cheese and eggs I have in a week. Now I LOVE chicken and really enjoy yoghurts too, but now I have to be really careful how much I have. Add to this the massive list I have of fruit and veg I have to limit and avoid because they are high in potassium.
The list I have has 3 columns, Low, moderate and higher potassium, then at the bottom is a list of very high potassium fruits and veg which I have to avoid. Including bananas which I usually have daily in my smoothies, but obviously now I can't. Things like grapes, kiwi and plums are also fruits I would normally eat daily, but this are in the "higher" list, so I have limit them.
It is so difficult, I am a fairly fussy-ish eater, so being told that most the foods, fruits and veg i like are all the ones I need to either limit or avoid is making life very difficult!
