My body fat % is currently about 24 I think. I say that because the online calculators are horrendously inconsistent, but I'd say that sounds about right.

Because I tend to carry all my weight around my stomach, ideally I would like to lower my % to about 20%.

I currently haven't been able to get to the gym (revision period), but when I do I run and I lift. I eat pretty well too.

What exactly do I need to do to lower my % and maintain it?

Weight loss is 70% in the kitchen and 30% exercise.

Watch what you're eating, make healthy choices, and make sure you get some good cardio work in a couple times a week :)

    Lose weight while retaining muscle.

Losing weight is about sustaining a calorie deficit. Retaining muscle is about heavy lifting and high protein intake.

This, but I would suggest for the deficit that it be a small caloric deficit. If you are doing TDEE aim for TDEE - 10-15%, if you follow MFP set your goal to lose 0.5 lbs/week.
