Weight Lifting and Sclerotherapy?

I'm not sure if many of you have had this problem, but googling hasn't turned up much information or anecdotes.

I'm still pretty young - 26 - but I have a nasty varicose vein on the back of my right knee that I've had for as long as I can remember. Since I started heavy lifting a few months ago, it seems to have gotten worse and puffier. It doesn't hurt or bother me - just looks really ugly.

I've been meaning to get sclerotherapy for it for a while anyway, so I made an appointment for next week so that I could at least have most of the summer where my leg isn't freaking little kids out ;)

My question is...can you go back to weight lifting without the problem coming back? I'm assuming once the vein is closed, it doesn't suddenly reopen, but I have other veins emerging from that one (or the same one making things worse?) that are getting to that same bulging-ness. I'm worried that I won't be able to heavy lift again, either way.

Anyone with a similar experience?
