Net vs Gross Calories

I feel sort of silly even bringing this up since I sure the more experienced fitness buffs out there have known this, but I just figured out I have been looking at my calories burned all wrong. Well maybe not all wrong, but certainly my figures have been off. I have been counting gross calories instead of net. Does anyone else pay attention to this?

Yes and it's good that you started as well. Basically it depends on how you calculate your calories deficit - with exercises or without. Even so MFP caluclates it based on lbs project loss. So you need to aim for net calories equal to what MFP set for you, becasue you need to eat at least 1200 cals per day - net. if you are interested in going more into depths of it and doing the math - I find this quite useful:

Hope this helps and if you have more questions, shoot
Still, different people have different opinions so I guess you will see other answers as well0
