I need some advice about weight gain and lifting!

Hey. So I'm a 21 year old girl, I'm currently underweight and need to gain weight, but instead of gaining it mostly in fat, I'd like to get fit and toned. My diet is very healthy and I eat plenty of protein, so that's not an issue. I've lifted weights/dumbbells previously before I got underweight and I saw some results but they are mostly gone now. I used 1,5 kgs dumbbells and felt they werent much of a challenge, plus I did lots of reps due to them being very light.
I want to get into weight training in general, and want to maintain whatever results I get once I'm done gaining weight. I'll be eating maintenance so I don't keep gaining soon, but I suppose my calorie requirements will be bigger once I start lifting? I need some advice when it comes to this.
I bought these weights yesterday:

But I'm not 100 % sure about them (I can still return them). So my questions are:
1. Based on the information given, are those weights decent enough or would you recommend buying the ones where you put weight on them yourself? I'm not looking to "bulk up" but I do want to keep this going to get stronger and better looking.
2. How much should I start to lift? And again, if those dumbbells aren't good enough, what should I go for?
3. How long would it take to see results, how would the weight gain be different from not lifting at all but just eating enough calories to gain weight?
Thanks for any help in advance!:))
