Comforting eating when sick?

I'm pretty good at managing and not giving in to my cravings and emotion eating most of the time, something I have battled with for a long time and am finally managing to change. The exception to this however is when I'm ill (and for whatever reason 2013 has been the year of flu for me so far), the only thing I want to eat (if I want to eat) is junk food. I'm so sick at the moment walking is difficult without being dizzy, so working out is out of the question until I have recovered.
Does anybody else get mega cravings for junk food when you are ill? How do you manage this?

If you have major cravings try making a healthier version of what you are craving, have 2 oranges everyday and it will fight the flu! hope this helps and good luck get well soon x0

We don't have them in our village either - but I've just discovered Dominos delivers to the sticks...dangerous!0 -
I don't crave necessarily junk food, or what I think of as junk food (nacho chips, prepared cheap microwave meals, fast food) , but I do often just want to eat whatever comes to mind, usually lots of carbs. Toast, grilled cheese sandwiches, cake, cheesy pasta, or nuts. Funny enough, not chocolate, or no more than usual!
I usually give into it, to tell the truth. It might derail my day or even my week, but it's not going to knock me back to my starting point and sometimes I think my body is trying to tell me something when I want that sort of food. It's usually only a day or two I feel really awful and can't be bothered to make something more healthful. If it was longer, I would call in my husband to help prep some better foods items to snack on.0 -
just look at Tuesday, May 7th's food diary for me:bigsmile:0
