Below is message I received from a freind on FB after I posted that I had done both a CXWOX (30 minute core class) and a Body Combat class back to back.

"After about an hour of intense exercise all the fuel in the bloodstream is used up and the body then goes after muscle to get fuel. This will break down any muscle you are trying build. An hour is more than enough."

True or Untrue????

    false.

what breaks muscle down is eating at a calorie deficit, regardless of what exercise you do, or lack of exercise.

what help reduce this muscle loss is to do resistance training. The body is smart, it will prioritize tissue thats not in use to be lost while in deficit. so not using your muscles? Expect a lot of weight loss to come from sources other than fat.

Technically loosely based on some arcane fact, but, realistically that is complete nonsense. Unfortunately "complete nonsense" ioften passes for " conventional wisdom" when it comes to health and fitness.
