Goodmorning everyone :)
My daughters favorite go to for breakfast when we are in a rush is brownsugar poptarts. Our house hold has made a real change in eating and what we keep in the house and she has done really good with that but the other day at the store she asked for poptarts and it really crushed me not to get them for her :( so i told her i would try and come up with a health clean version of a brownsugar poptart so do any of you have any suggestions?

How about just buy her the pop tarts?
Aint nothing wrong with a little processed white flour sugary goodness....
I love the chocolate chip ones on occasion myself.

True story. I had pop tarts yesterday at breakfast and I'm down another pound on this morning's weigh in. Sure they're calorie dense but if it fits in your macros they're not terribly bad.

If you are truly determined, I'd start with a couple basic pie crusts. Roll one out to about an 1/8 inch and then sprinkle it with brown sugar and cinnamon. Now the hard part, roll out the other crust to lay over the top. Then take a pizza cutter and cut in to strips, place on a baking sheet and bake. once they are cooled frost them with a royal icing (that's the shiny kind)

FYI, there is really no way to make these low calorie.

The Special K version of Poptarts (no heating though) taste better than Poptarts anyway. I discovered this yesterday.

Couldn't agree more. If it fits in to her Daily Diary don't deprive her. Thats her reward for following the diary.

Why not let her have them? Let it be a weekend treat. Deprivation leads to misery and in some cases, secret bingeing. Don't think you want that.
