Fish oil vs Krill Oil

I have started taking fish oil capsules as I don't really eat alot of fish and the health benefits are well documented. I have been looking into it a bit and have found some info re Krill oil instead of traditional fish oil.

They are considerably more expensive so was wondering if anyone had any experience of them and if they are in fact worth the extra cost.

Thanks

My understanding is that krill, being lower on the food chain than fish, have lower levels of toxins that would otherwise accumulate in predators. Another thing I've heard is that krill oil doesn't give you that fishy burp aftertaste, although I certainly haven't experienced that benefit with my bottle of KO.

I take the MegaRed krill oil every day. No fishy aftertaste. Krill are the source of the good fatty acids that fish have - fish don't produce them naturally. So better to get it from the source in my opinion. Every now and then Costco has it discounted and that's when I stock up.

    Consumer Reports:

<<Bottom line. More clinical research is needed. Most people can get enough DHA and EPA by eating fatty, low-mercury fish—such as Alaskan salmon and sardines—at least twice weekly.>>

I buy Carlson's liquid. It comes in Lemon or Orange and no fish burps. It's known as one of the best quality oils and buying it by the bottle is way cheaper than gel caps. The cost/benefit for Krill is far from being worth it.
