Hello,
New here, obviously
I dropped about 5 lbs on my own in the past week or so before I decided to join here ... mostly to help me keep track of what I was eating/doing but also because we've recently relocated to this area and I don't really have anyone nearby to be supportive of my health goals.
My husband is terrified of what he calls "hippie food" i.e. anything green that isn't soda. He eats lots of red meat, heavy sauces, extra helpings of potatoes, etc. I've tried to encourage healthier options for his favorite foods (grilled chicken breast over spaghetti instead of beef, quinoa or rice instead of potatoes, fresh fruit for snacks instead of potato chips) but no dice. I know my healthy choices are for me ... I guess the point is he doesn't really help me exercise control when he digs into a bag of Doritos after dinner and follows it up with an ice cream bar. I end up trying to make a healthy meal just for me and his usual meat-and-spuds meal for him and that's twice as much work!
I've got a 6-month-old daughter with me at home so it should be obvious I'm looking to trim some baby weight so I'd love to hear from other new moms who are working to get back into shape (i've already accepted I can't wear bikinis ever again but I have a whole drawer full of jeans I can't bear to get rid of)!
Anyway ... thanks for listening to me ramble and I hope to be an active member of the community here
