Body changing, but scales stuck.

Hi guys,
My body seems to be changing, but I have been stuck around the 13 stone mark for the past 5 months.
I work out 2/3 times a week with insanity Dvd's and run indoors 1/2 a week. My diet could be better and jas been poor past 2 weeks since getting back from a long weekend in London. But I'm staying around my TDEE - 20% 1800 cal a day on the whole.
Is it possible, with running and insanity I am gaining lean muscle and this would be the reason I'm stay around the same weight?
Any info would be appreciated, diary is open.
Jon

That's exactly what is happening, As long as you are seeing a difference, don't worry about the scale.
Edited to add--I looked at your diary, I'd probably try to cut down on some of those carbs and add more lean meats or whole grains.0 -
Yeah, carbs are my issue. Working on cutting them back, but also trying to be organised with cooking a meal. After getting home from work and working out, I sometimes don't end up eating until after 7:30pm,which for me is to late on a regular basis.
Thanks for the feedback, its appreciated.0 -
my body has changed a lot in the last 4 months but the scale is moving very slowly. sometimes its not about the scale.0

My scale is stuck too, and don't think the MFP critics haven't let me know about it. M y pants have gotten so baggy that they are nearly falling off, but my scale does not show much of a loss. I feel thinner, and my clothes are looser. I'll take that.0

But, what I would like to know is if it is muscle replacing my fat, inaccurate scales or some other phenomenon.
I'm happy to make changes if required, but I need to know what.0 -
I am sure it's muscle. Have you taken body measurements? Muscle takes up less space than fat. You can have a pound each of muscle and fat and the pound of muscle will be smaller. If you see good changes in your body, then you shouldn't worry.0

very possible your muscle mass has increased, I know mine has.0 -
Yeah, you are building lean mass of some kind, but to make real progress on your physique you will need to run a deficit eventually. Newbie gains rock, enjoy!0

Apart from the body pod and hydro static weight measuring. What's the most accurate home process to measure body fat?
I Think this is the way to go to measure progress.
I'm a geek, so I need some sort of stats in my life :-)0 -

A body fat caliper and a tape measure are better ways of measuring your progress than a scale. I to am not seeing the change in the numbers on the scale but I was told that my body is gaining the muscle faster than losing the fat. It will all balance out in the end.0

I have the same problem. I've lost so far about 14lbs (was just around 12 st and I'm 5ft 6). I train Muay Thai 5-6 times a week and walk everywhere as I don't drive and don't have a car, so burn a reasonable amount of kcal a day. My weight is stuck now on about 11st. I know I got leaner and lost weight as my wardrobe is a size smaller. I have a sweet tooth, so that's the main issue. I try to make my weight for the next weigh in at the gym but scales don't cooperate with me measuring myself monthly and logging my food and exercise in here helps me a lot.0
