How do I log my work days?

I work in a high volume retail store and I'm constantly on my feet for about 8 hours a day. I use the runtastic app all day to track how many steps I take throughout my shift, then I log it as 'walking' on MFP. I'm just wondering if that actually counts as exercise? According to my app, I end up burning at least 1,000+ calories a day and I find it difficult to eat back all those calories. Making my net calories usually under 1200 and I'm starting to wonder if that will stall my weight loss.

Change your profile settings to active if they aren't already and don't count work as exercise. Exercise, to me, is outside of your daily routine (work, cleaning ect..)0

I wouldn't recommend logging that at all. It is part of daily life, not exercise. I work in a fast paced retail store as well, but do not track it. Just like cleaning, dog walking, yoga, etc. I don't log any of that because I would do it anyways. I did it when I was overweight and it didn't contribute to any weight loss lol.
My suggestion is to not bother logging it. If you want to track your steps, that is perfectly fine! But work is part of a persons daily life, not exercise. Logging it could mislead you when it comes to your calories in and out.0
