Crave more after eating a lot?

My calorie goal is 1200 per day (which has me losing less than a pound a week according to MFP). Normally I spread these 1200 calories throughout the day and have no trouble feeling satisfied on many small meals and snacks a few hours apart.
Today, though, I went to a party and ate a really big lunch. Still definitely within my calorie allowance (including breakfast and planned snacks and dinner), but a much larger meal that what I'm used to. Even though it was not too long ago, I'm finding myself really craving food... Whether I'm hungry or just want something to eat is hard to tell.
Does this happen to anyone?

It happens to us all at some stage, lumped under "bingeing" Just go with it but try & be sensible and avoid if possible calorie dense foods, like chocolate, chips, burgers, pizzas & cheese rolls or such like, then start back on track tomorrow
maybe some fruit?0 -
I find that if I eat a lot of sugar early on in the day, I am more hungry later in the day. I really have to work hard not to be looking in the fridg every half hour.0

It's late at night here but I still can't seem to get full. This hasn't happened to me in quite a while. Normally my 1200 calories are more than enough to satisfy me and if I go over, it's because it was planned (special occasion, exercised a lot that day, etc).
I'm fairly new to healthily losing weight so it could just be normal but it's really frustrating.0 -
Don't be afraid of that hungry feeling, it's ok. It's completely normal to feel hungry at times. We have never in the distant past been able to satisfy our our hunger every half hour or so as getting food was so much harder than it is now.
If it's late at night, have a small glass of water and get some sleep. Stop thinking about it. Wake up and have a normal breakfast and carry on. Slowly and steadily by making wise choices and eating mindfully the weight will come off.
Good luck0
