Job/Stress and Dieting

Hey guys!
Every time I have a huge time sensitive project, my diet goes out the window for at least 2 weeks, and I have to start cleaning it up all over again once the project is over. Last year, it was my senior project, this time it is a conference at my job that I am one of the point people for. I just don't have time to go to the gym and work out. My schedule gets crazy (early morning, late nights) and my diet is off the chaaaain (fast food, high sodium). I am always eating when I am starving, rather than small snacks. Stress levels increase too and lack of sleep. Any tips??!!

this is where pre planning saves the day. I cook all my meals for the coming week on the weekend, which actually doesn't take me very long, and I never have to give a second thought to what I am going to eat during the week. I love it, and it has saved me time and time again!
Life gets too busy to be cooking and preparing your lunches etc every morning before work!0 -
Just better planning is my only advice. You know it's coming, try to get to bed earlier so you have more sleep and aren't inclined to make poor eating decisions the next day. Plan your meals ahead of time. Something will end up being sacrificed (usually any semblance of a social life) but if you don't want it to be your health, you need to plan ahead.
Pre-make snacks you're ok with eating - put them in little bags in the serving size you want. Pre-make meals you can make quickly, and stack them up in the fridge/freezer. If you can't get to the gym, then go for a walk for 40 minutes. If that's impossible too, stay within your calories for the day, and let it go. Good luck!0 -
+1 on the planning for meals. As far as exercise, you could do a 20 minute intense exercise (i.e. Jillian Michaels) anywhere with a TV and DVD Player; as opposed to spending an hour at a gym.0

I find myself eating out when at a time crunch, but I have to make better choices. More fast food places are posting their calorie counts and then I just log it.0
