Weight Gain Frustration

I am a very active person---I dance as well as work for the dance department at my college, plus have been doing 20 minutes to an hour of cardio religiously for months, and now I do about a half hour of weight training and abs every day. Last semester, my calorie intake went down to about 9800 calories per week (1400 a day on average) and I lost 10 pounds.
I am hesitant to address the fact that I have starved myself in the past because I have gotten so much non-helpful backlash for it, but I feel it is important to address as I am worried it has dramatically slowed my metabolism. Over the past few months, I have been determined to abandon my old habits and live a healthy lifestyle. I eat throughout the day, I keep my fat low and my protein high. I have not once exceeded 11200 calories per week (an average of 1600 calories: zigzagging my calories, sometimes I go as high as 1800 and as low as 1400). Mostly, I have stayed in the range of about 1500 calories a day. Weight training has been added in as a part of my new goal to health. I do not eat fast food, I do not eat chips or pretzels or crackers, I rarely indulge in my chocolate obsession and I eat an abundance of lean meat and veggies.
I have officially gained ten pounds over the course of three months.
How is this possible? I have been watching it edge up gradually, hoping it would level out. It is frustrating and discouraging. I can see possibly have putting on maaaybe one or two pounds of muscle, but the rest has to be fat or else I'd look like Jillian Michaels by now.
Please...any input that doesn't bash my past eating habits is greatly appreciated...

Hello,
Have thought about going to a doctor? There are so many things that could be happening. By what you say you have dramatically changed your eating habits, you might have an allergy that you don't know about and that is making you retain liquids and plump up. It might be something related to your hormone regulations, there might be something affecting your thyroid...so many things that could be happening. If I was in your position I would look for professional help at this point. You said only about your weight, have your measurements changed as well? I didn't gain weight but I was stuck on the same numbers at the scale for 3 months, the only thing that kept me going towards my healthier life style was that I could see the difference in my measurements.

Thank you---
I haven't addressed it to the doctor but maybe it's time I try... Do you know where I could find more information on hormones? I have had amenorrhea since November. I don't know if the two are related...0 -

oh yeah...hormones can do it. My niece has PCOS and has a very difficult time losing weight. Hang in there.. I agree, go see a doctor and have blood work for thyroid as well.
...I also had an ovarian mass and was gaining weight and unable to lose... had it out in Feb and am now losing.0
