Seaweed / Dr Oz

I was scanning my Facebook news feed and one of my friends posted this. Anyone know the accuracy?

[being quote]:

We’ve long contended that seaweed is the best thing since sliced bread and frankly, there’s a lot of questions about sliced bread nowadays, what with the carbs and all. The point is, we’ve always said that due to its high content of vitamins and minerals, certain kinds of seaweed can be beneficial whether your consuming it or bathing in it.

And now, television’s own Dr. Mehmet Cengiz Oz (a.k.a. Dr. Oz) has gone on record expounding the attributes of brown seaweed — which is rich in essential and non-essential amino acids found in your skin. Earlier this week, the popular cardiothoracic surgeon, author and talk show host ceremoniously unveiled a table with about 50 pounds of brown seaweed displayed on top.

Using an audience member to make his point, Dr. Oz shared that seaweed from the ocean has been proven to have potent powers that can assist in burning off belly fat. Specifically, the good doctor told his audience that an ingredient in brown seaweed called Fucoidan — when ingested in liquid form — can help dieters burn more calories and body fat, as well as liver fat, and do it more rapidly than exercise alone.

He said the results of a 16-week study concluded regular exercise and a daily regimen of Fucoidan can speed up weight-loss. Better yet, he said that adding a few drops of black licorice extract to 500 milligrams of Fucoidan can result in the loss of an additional pound of weight a week.

Take a look at ALL the products he promotes as miracle weight loss pills, potions. There is a new one each week.

“Everybody wants to know what’s the newest, fastest fat buster,” the board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon said on his show in the beginning of January. “How can I burn fat without spending every waking moment exercising and dieting?”

The answer is simply Garcinia Cambogia. African Mango, Rasberry ketones, Green coffee bean extract, yada yada yada

I don't understand why he didn't say add raspberry keytones and Golgi berries along with the licorice extract to the seaweed.
*runs to library to bury head in a book and find the answer to this puzzle.

Honestly I don't watch his program very often. Maybe once a month I'll pass by the channel (I don't watch much TV). So yeah, I can see how having a TV program and many people trying to lose weight for summer would motivate him to promote things like this. Thanks

Dr Oz will say ANYTHING to make a buck. If you see him associated with anything run the other way. You can just throw your money in the street and get the same results as if you do anything he recommends.
