Scared about maintaining weight

Hi guys!! :) Just lost about 79-80 pounds in 10 months.. I am now where I always wanted to be.. but now I don't workout everyday and this thing kinda worries me.. I track how many calories I eat a day and I am pretty careful with that but I am soooo scared that I will gain everything back... I workout 3-4 times a week. Help me please :(

If you do not go over your maintenance cals you won't gain any fat. For like a first week you might gain a few pounds of water weight but that's pretty much it. Also, maybe you might gain like couple pounds of fat back if you were in very high deficit but that's really nothing.

keep tracking your food through your diary, keep tracking your weight, don't lie to yourself and if you see yourself gaining make adjustments to your caloric intake and exercise.

overall, keep calm and carry on.

I am maintaining and started to put on weight when I ate all the cals that MFP told me to. I have now set the profile to lose half a pound a week and although I lost two more pounds, I have maintained at that weight. Maybe that is the weight that I should be at!

Just make sure you log everything that you eat and keep moving. I allow myself to eat what I like if i go out but even then within reason. Every other day is regimented.

Also, move to your maintenance calories SLOWLY! Add Like 100 - 200 per week. If you jump up real quick, you will gain. It will be temporary, but you will gain.

Remember to keep weighing in, and watching what the scale says and how your clothing fits.

Get people to hold you accountable.

Congrats on making it to your goal! Now the fun begins.

Keep with the habits that got you to the goal. Good Luck!

Agreed with upping 100 calories a week. And stick to MFP, and stick to your base goal the days you don't work out.

The critical part of maintenance is continuing to track your calories, which you're still doing so bravo! You definitely don't have to work out every day to maintain- the key is to find your groove and do what is maintainable for you...forever! People say that maintenance is hard, and/or gain weight back, because they get tired of counting calories, especially when they don't have the rewarding goal of seeing their body change. If you keep tracking you'll be fine! Maybe set a new goal, such as eating clean to maximize muscle building from workouts?

www.runsforcookies.com and www.ronisweigh.com both blog about maintaining their weight and they're both fun to read. Might be good inspiration to stay on track for the long haul!
