I'm really new to all this, and was wondering what everyone uses in terms of supplements, shakes and nutrition bars etc. There is just so much on the market that I don't even know where to start or when to take them? The morning, afternoon, pre-workout, post workout?
I usually workout in the morning during the week and mid-day on the weekends. HELP!

you should try and get all of your macronutrients from whole foods...most protein bars/powders are full of empty calories anyway (creamer/sugar/corn syrup/crap sources of protein)0

I eat bars, occasionally (rarely) suppliment with shakes when I need a lot of protein and don't have much calorie space.
I eat a protein bar for breakfast though on weekdays. They are very conventient for me, can eat it in the car on the way to work.
Almost all protein bars are also fortified with vitamins. Between that and the protein, I really fail to see how the calories are "empty". Sugar haters gonna hate tho.0 -
I drink Shakeology daily. I have been drinking that for over a year. There is nothing like it out there. I drink results and recovery drink after my workouts. I have been eating cliff bars. I changed bars all the time because of the sugar intake.0

Vemma Bode Shakes - they are the first shake I have tried that is all natural and still tastes good. I don't drink them every day-just when I need a protein boost.0

i love mint Clif Builder Bars. all natural, etc. no fake sugars, no hydrogenated oils or trans fats, etc... basically, just a protein bar. i eat one after a workout, love the taste.0
