pregnant & losing control

I have spent the last 2 years losing 120lbs. Going from 414 to 296. It was such a challenge but at the same time amazing. I found myself and confidence I didn't know I had. After finding out I was pregnant back in March I have been trying so hard to eat well and exercise as much as possible. But I am finding it incredibly difficult to find motivation and most of all energy to push myself. When I'm tired I eat and I eat foods that are not great for me. I do really try to incorporate fruits, veggies, lots of protien, fiber & good stuff for the baby. But this is the first time in a long time I feel out of control with my body. I dread going to see my OB because I'm going to gain. I'm only supposed to gain at MOST 15lbs throughout this whole pregnancy and I have already done that in the first trimester. I am terrified to go back to the person I was before I lost the weight. I do a 20 minute video I did prior to getting pregnant & have pulled muscles in my legs for 2 days afterwards. Walking is recommended but it's not enough of a calorie burn for me. I swear I look at food & gain weight.
I know I just have to keep pushing but I'm so overwhelmed and scared of the whole process.

This i exactly what I'm afraid of. My husband have been hoping for a pregnancy for years... and now that I'm finally losing weight I'm terrified of hitting my goal weight then getting pregnant and gaining it all back and it being harder to lose afterwards.
Have you tried looking into a "fit pregnancy" video or something like that? I think the important thing is to get your exercise but try to keep it low impact. Maybe you can go walking on a trail or something at a park so you get a variance in your trail and burn some extra calories vs walking on a flat road.
I'm sure overcoming cravings is a big challenge... I would try doing some searches online and maybe finding some healthier alternatives to your favorite snack foods... or making small switches in ingredients to make it a little healthier? Good luck!0 -
Please don't beat yourself up over it! Right now is the time to focus on having a happy healthy lil baby. If you stress yourself out over this, you'll stress out the baby.
All you really need to do is continue doing what you did when you lost 120 lbs! And try to make healthy choices when those cravings kick in!0 -
I am in the same boat, but earlier on in my pregnancy than you - last night my stomach was EMPTY and rumbling no matter what I put in it. It was freaking me out, and I was eating everything in sight! I still have a ways to go with my weight loss (I'm 198, gw 141) but I am scared I'm taking a big backwards step!
But realistically, it's unlikely you'll gain all 120lbs back, and as long as you keep working towards self-control, and don't beat yourself up, things will likely stabilise for the rest of your pregnancy (the first trimester is supposed to be the craziest, from what I have read).
And when working out, you should stick to 60-75% 'effort' and don't feel guilty about it, it's for the safety of you and baby.
Good luck and I hope you have a happy and healthy pregnancy!0 -

Thank you for the encouragement! I will keep trying to be strong and make good choices. Good luck to you & your baby!0
