TDEE Question

Ok, I already knew that I was not eating enough so I started increasing my calories a little at a time, but was still stalling.

Basically I have been playing with the same 2-4 pounds for the last 4 months!!! Very discouraging.

I finally used the TDEE calculator, and was blown away by just how many calories I am supposed to be eating in order to lose weight!!!! The Scooby TDEE calculator say 1743 calories a day, and that is with my 20% deficit in order to lose weight. I was struggling horribly to get up to 1400 calories a day so over the weekend I did some research and started doing some serious prepping for the week. Even with planning it is really hard to eat healthy foods and hit that 1700 calorie mark, but I'm trying!

So my question... Does anyone out there have any idea when I should start seeing some results? I have been very leary of going higher than the 1400-1500 calorie mark, but I am desperate and really need to see some sort of results instead of this constant stalling. I do know that it took a while for me to get to this weight and it will take time to get it to come off...

Thanks

I would say give yourself a week and then weigh yourself. That's what I did when I increased my calories. (actually I was nervous to increase so I weighed myself the next day and saw a drop) #impatient lol :drinker:

I struggled with this subject also. I was consuming 1200-1400 cals/day and stalled at about 40 pounds. In the last two weeks I have upped my calorie intake to around 2100, TDEE-20%. Initially I put back on 3 pounds but I have lost that plus an additional 3, hopefullly it will keep going down!

Once you change the way you eat, you need to give it about a month. Also, if you figure out your TDEE, you should actually hit that goal. Obviously, what you did in the past wasn't helping, so why not try something different for a month. Eat higher calorie foods so you don't have to eat higher quantity. Hit the search button and search "women who eat 1800 calories" and you will find 500+ post of member who do. Many of them 120-150 lbs.

Thanks for responding! I know that I have done damage to my metabolism with the way I ate for many years.... It's just been really hard to get up to more calories when you normally didn't even consume 1000 calories a day!
