Lost 20lbs!

It took a while, a lot of gaining and loosing, and then back to gaining. But I am down 20lbs and loving it. There is no real secret, you just have to accept yourself for who and what you are and go from there. I won't lie and say that I always felt good about myself, some days I just felt down right disgusting. And even with the love and support of my family and friends it is still hard. However, I had to take a good long look in the mirror and I had to accept certain aspects of myself.

I had to accept that I may never get rid of all my belly fat. I've had it since I was a baby and 'pot-bellies' run in my family. But can I make my tummy smaller even though I may not be able to make it flat? You betcha.

I had to accept that women in my family are round. I'm all hips, butt, and tummy like the other women in my family. But just because I have always had a bit of a butt doesnt mean that I cant work to tighten up those areas.

I also had to accept that the scale lies!!! This was a hard lesson, let me tell you. Just because the number is going up doesnt mean that I am gaining fat, most of the time it has meant that I am gaining muscle and becoming leaner, not skinny. I try to ignore the scale as much as possible unless there is a 5lb or more gain/loss. Because it either means that mother nature is around the corner or I need to pay more attention to how I am treating my body and what I am putting into it.

I also started looking into things like dietary supplements. They do not work for everyone, this I know, but I found a combination of three products that really give me a boost and help me burn fat without loosing muscle, all thanks to a wonderful employee at GNC that was more interested in my needs than making a sale. Thanks to her patience, because I returned no less than 3 different products that I didn't like, I found the right mix and match for me ^_^

I would love to post some pictures, but I have no clue how, but feel free to add me here, I love giving and receiving motivation!!! And if someone can tell me how to post my pictures, I would be really excited to share them with all of you.
