Hi! I'm Lisa - I've been married for 2 years and am now pregnant with our first! It took 7 months of trying, but it finally happened and I'm in my 7th week. I want to have a healthy pregnancy and since my BMI is in the obese category, I don't want my weight gain to exceed the recommended 11-20 pounds and jeopardize my health or my baby's health.
I spoke to my doctor and he gave me a "clean eating diet" of sorts and recommended that I track my calories at a "maintenance" level for the first trimester. He told me I should swim 30-45 minutes daily at a leisurely pace and add the calories I burn there to my maintenance calories.
I'm looking for some company to weather my pregnancy and the weight loss process thereafter, so please send me a friend request if you feel you identify with me in any way!
